Opera 129 arrives with Chromium 145 and Gemini sidebar integration

Opera 129 stable

Opera has pushed version 129 to the stable channel, bringing it up to Chromium 145 and adding deeper AI integration through Google’s Gemini. The update continues the company’s recent focus on building AI features directly into the browser, rather than treating them as add-ons.

Opera has pushed version 129 to its stable channel. The update brings the browser to Chromium version 145.0.7632.117.

Core upgrades and sidebar additions

The most notable change for regular users is the addition of Google’s Gemini directly into the sidebar. Google Translate is also now available as a sidebar panel for everyone. You no longer need to dig through experimental flags to enable these tools, as they are now turned on by default.

Security patches and stability

This release addresses two recent Chromium zero-day vulnerabilities, tracked as CVE-2026-3909 and CVE-2026-3910. Installing this update quickly is a smart move to keep your system secure.

Opera also focused heavily on crash fixes across Windows, Mac, and Linux. The developers resolved issues tied to session restoration, content rules, and general tab management to keep the browser running predictably.

Interface and split-screen tweaks

The development team cleaned up several interface bugs in this version. Bookmark folders now open with the correct tab order, and macOS users will notice display fixes across the tab, address, and top bars.

Split-screen mode received specific attention as well. The browser now prevents you from using split-screen with a detached Google Meet window, and it fixes a bug that caused crashes when closing the last tab in a split view.

Built-in sidebar apps like Instagram and Deezer also received minor fixes to improve panel behavior.
